Hey guys it’s Tom from Spartan Home
Fitness and I’m here to get you fit,
healthy, and expand your mind all while
not having to even step foot in a gym. In
this video I want to talk about a
therapeutic technique called “grounding”
otherwise known as “earthing” which is an
activity that reconnects your electrical
charge to the planet, it’s just as simple
as walking barefoot. Now in the early
20th century synthetic rubber was
invented which is pretty much the one
thing just a centimeter thick that is
disconnecting you from the electrical
charge to the planet which has pretty
much has been on every shoe of your life. Now
in this video I want to talk about the
health benefits and I want to run you
through some of my techniques that I use
to ground, let’s get to it!
I want to share with you some techniques
that I use that you can use anywhere
let’s start off by something simple you
can be in a chair in your front yard, you
can be sitting on a park bench like I am
and just making sure that the soles of your
feet are on the ground and just enjoying
nature or maybe you’re outside reading a
book or even just being at the beach and
just sitting and having your feet in the
sand. You know, taking a walk on the beach
and having your feet in the water this
is all examples of grounding and it’s
just so simple safe
and effective. Just by having your
bare skin on the earth in this case my
feet something I even love to do with my
fiance Tori is go into a field lay out a
blanket pop out some books and just have
our bodies planted on the earth and just
feel that peace and serenity that
grounding and nature gives. There’s been
studies done by the earthing movement
and reading an article through Health
Line there was a study of sixteen
massage therapists who went through on
and off intervals of grounding and they
found that when they grounded the red blood cell fluidity was
prominent. There was no clumping and it
showed an increase in cardiovascular
health. Actually, the participants also
experienced fatigue levels dropping,
chronic pain that they had was severely
diminished, and there has been studies
shown that it actually increases
activity in white blood cells which
actually helps our immune system and
strengthens our immune system which is
something so important in times like
this. The earthing movement also found
studies and also these participants who
were the massage therapists active in
the study found that their depression had diminished
pretty significantly and their sleep
actually improved so this could actually
help with sleep and it goes back to the
whole immune system function. Boosting
that immune system, boosting your mood
and raising your vibration. Another
technique that I like to use to ground
is just doing what we did before and
putting it to motion walking in a grassy
field it’s just as simple as that
you could find a local park, you could do
this in your front yard, backyard but,
right here today we’re in Bethpage state
park.It’s a beautiful day and I’m using
this beautiful field to ground myself.
Definitely feeling that sense of peace,
Calm and serenity everything that usually
grounds myself when I come to these
Woods. The third technique that I use
(which is a little bit more challenging
and all for you risk takers out there) is
grounding yourself in the forest, walking
the trails, walking in the woods. Now,
There are risks to it. You can catch
ticks or get bitten by bugs so make sure
you check for ticks. They could be in the
most obscene areas like under the armpits.
