WHAT WE DO
Spartan Home Fitness offers personal training sessions, in person or
virtually, and group training classes. Training sessions are provided at your
home or local park or via FaceTime, Google Hangouts, etc. Your fitness program will be tailored to your individual needs and personal goals after an initial evaluation and consultation with your trainer.
Participants engage in a variety of activities that can include weight
training, cardio, and stretching and dynamic flexibility exercises. Spartan Home Fitness has an inventory of a variety of training equipment for your use, or your own personal equipment can be utilized if you prefer.
HOW WE HELP
Spartan Home Fitness individualizes your program to your unique goals after a consultation with your personal trainer. In thinking about getting started, below you’ll find some fitness goals you might be interested in! Click to read a little bit more about each one.
For this one we’ll need some low to moderate weight dumbbells and get ready to sweat! Programs focused on weight loss will include circuit training, high intensity interval training (HIIT), nutritional advice, and consultations with your coach to keep you on track in reaching your goals.
We’ll pull out the big guns for this one – barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells. High weight and low reps to get you developing muscle. Programs focused on muscle gain will incorporate compound movements and nutritional guidance to help you develop muscle.
Ready to develop your strength? This will require progressive overload to develop your strength over time. Programs focused on strength production will start with your comfort level and provide a gradual increase of the stress placed upon the musculoskeletal and nervous system to develop your strength. (This often works it’s way into most programs, over time.
Do you sit at a desk all day for work, leaving you feeling stiff and uncomfortable? Programs focused in flexibility and mobility will make use of functional training – training the body for activities performed in everyday life by simulating common movements you might do at home, work or in sports. This flexibility and mobility training will make you more comfortable and prepared to move on to more strenuous activity in the future.
This is the most common request and we get why: when you feel good, you look good! Programs focused on general health maintenance will take into account your overall health and wellness, including your musculoskeletal and cardiovascular health.

I can’t say enough about the way I feel about my trainer Tom Spartinos and his fitness teammate, and fiancé Tori! I’ve been training off and on with Tom for 10 years. When I turned 51, we initially met in NYSC in Huntington, where management paired me with Tom for several training sessions. I’ve always enjoyed Athletics, but was new to the regular training in the gym. The work outs were tough, but manageable and gave me considerable results, that empowered me to grow stronger over time, and able to meet my 30 pound weight loss goal. Tom was also patient and needless to say, he was a great source of continued encouragement. We kept in touch, while I worked full-time and was pursuing a second Masters degree, as a single mother of three …
As life would have it, I got tired of the gym culture, was facing a possible knee surgery, and tried to work out regularly on my own. Tom out grew the New York sports club in Huntington, and had bigger aspirations to go out on his own. When the time was right for me, I saw no reason but to get back on the course, and stay with him for my fitness needs.

I’ve been training with Tom for four months now and have been seeing amazing results. In our short time training together, I have lost ten pounds and decreased my body fat from 14.6% to 8.2%. I have never felt stronger or healthier. Tom is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about fitness, which shows through the energy and enthusiasm he brings to every session. His outgoing, friendly personality creates a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. He makes each workout different, challenging, and fun. He knows my limits and is able to create workouts that challenge me within those limits. I never thought I’d be able to get in shape outside of a gym, but Tom brings all the necessary equipment with him and makes use of everyday items inside and outside of my house. He has done this by e-mailing me personalized menu suggestions, recommending various apps/websites, and making personal recommendations. Because of him, I have incredible energy, my balance and strength have improved immensely, and I’ve got great new muscles popping out in different areas of my body. Before I started working out with Tom I weighed 200 pounds and I was sluggish. I ate take-out many nights and clothes started to look awkward on me. I made the choice to start working out, but didn’t know where to start. However, I found Spartan Home Fitness and with Tom’s help I learned how to workout and I was able to shed the weight. I noticed a shift in weight when I was finally able to wear jeans that hadn’t fit me since high school. I also started to develop muscles due to both my training with Tom and diet plan that he gave me. Now my weight is in the 180’s and I have a renewed sense of confidence in myself. Today, I have an extra push to get into the gym and workout and I couldn’t have done it without Tom and Spartan Home Fitness.

Over the course of a year I jumped from 160lbs to almost 180lbs. Went from a size 32 to a 34. One day I noticed that my size 34 were feeling too tight and decided enough was enough. I contacted Tom and my journey began. In one month I lost 8 pounds, went back down to a size 33,and pushed myself to limits I didn’t think I could reach.
